Wrong Company Meetups

Company meetups are stressful. They should not be about work, but about building bonds between team members. Especially for remote-only companies.

I attended meetups where people were given homework, asked to do presentations, and put on the spot.

For most of those people, it was their first time in front of a crowd — so they ended up stressed and anxious.

It's wrong. Company meetups should be informal — people should just show up and enjoy themselves. Hang out, have fun, go to interesting places.
